It was truly a family affair.

Family was sprinkled generously throughout the wedding party–here a sister-in-law as bridesmaid,

there a father acting as best man, and a jovial brother providing comic relief while masquerading as a groomsman.

The wedding ceremony took place in the groom’s small church, tucked away in the piedmont amidst a background of pines.

And the reception was held on land that had been in the groom’s family for generations.

Children raced each other across the wide lawn;

glasses clinked as happy guests stood in line for freshly prepared BBQ;

a brown & white dog nosed around, large eyes hopeful.

Hours later, the bride and groom slipped away to linger in the sunset.
